About Us

Together for Connor is a 501(c)(3) charitable, nonprofit organization. Learn more about our mission, the work we plan to do, and learn about some of our team members!

“I don’t really have a hero in my life, so I guess I try to be my own. A hero is someone you look up to, someone who inspires you. A hero is someone you wish you could be. Someone strong, someone brave, someone who does the right thing. That’s why I strive to be my own hero, because hopefully somewhere along the way I’ll become somebody else’s as well.”

- Connor, Age 15

This excerpt comes from a school assignment written by Connor during his sophomore year - we thought he was being a bit sarcastic when he turned in an essay about how he doesn’t have a hero - but reading the full assignment that he turned in, Connor gave a thoughtful reflection on the kind of person that he wanted to be.

Our mission statement - To encourage individuals to find their inner strength and heroism in facing mental health challenges, suicide or thoughts of suicide, and bullying - was created to honor this reflection of Connor and the kind of person that he wanted to grow into.

Through our work, we hope to inspire everyone to be heroes for others, just as Connor aspired to be.

Meet the Together for Connor Team

Kyle Tronerud

President, Co-Founder

Kyle is very excited to honor his younger brother’s memory by making our communities kinder and normalizing conversations about mental health.

Kyle is a graduate of Roger Williams University and works as a licensed environmental engineer in Providence, RI. Kyle enjoys playing trading card games with his friends, visiting a local market or brewery, and rock climbing - you can even find him teaching youth classes at his local climbing gym.

Kyle has fond memories of spending countless hours playing games with his younger brother - especially Pokémon! You’ll even notice a tattoo of Charizard (Connor’s favorite) on his forearm.

Teresa Tronerud

Vice President, Co-Founder

Teresa’s hope is that no child has to suffer in silence and no family has to endure the loss of a loved one to suicide.

Teresa is a graduate of Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Teresa was a registered pharmacist, working in pharmacy management with a focus on patient safety for the last 17 years of her career before retiring in 2018 due to health reasons. She loves a good cup of coffee paired with paper crafting, DIY projects, or tending to Connor’s memorial garden.

Teresa’s favorite memories of Connor include his morning bear hugs, conversations during the drive to school, and his practical jokes - especially an April Fool’s day joke including some very spicy spaghetti!

Stay tuned! We’ll be adding bios for our other team members soon!

We plan to do the following with your help!

  • Create and share resources to educate and raise awareness about mental health challenges, suicide or thoughts of suicide and bullying

  • Provide financial support for summer camps, education, and mental health counseling services

  • Collaborate with aligned organizations
